Tottenham has three wins and a draw in their past four visits to the Hawthorns. Tottenham is on a 13-game unbeaten streak after losing the first game of the season 1-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford on an own goal. But on the flip side of the coin, they’ve won just six outings. The 13-match undefeated streak is the club’s best ever in the Premier League era. Their seven draws means they’ve dropped 17 points already, but they’re just four points out of first place behind co-leaders Leicester City and Manchester City. They played to an uneventful 0-0 draw at home at White Hart Lane against Chelsea in a London derby last weekend.
West Brom was also in London a week ago and fought to a 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Upton Park. Their last home game was also a success against a London side as they downed Arsenal 2-1. And even though they’ve just won twice at home, those victories came in their past three contests. West Brom ranks dead last in the league though when it comes to ball possession at 40 per cent. It’s something they’d like to improve on, but they’ve obviously been doing good things with the ball when they do have it. West Brom has recorded a pair of clean sheets at home so far and they’ve scored a minimum of two goals in three of their past four fixtures at the Hawthorns.
Tottenham may have to play without the services of Nacer Chadli and Nabil Bentaleb while West Brom is still without goalkeeper Ben Foster due to a long-term injury. Claudio Yacob will also miss the match as he’s serving a one-game suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against West Ham last week.
