- bet365 currently lists Man United as the favorites at 2/3 with West Ham 4/1 and a draw at 3/1
West Ham vs Manchester City – Head To Head:
- The two teams met at Etihad Stadium in Manchester earlier this season with West Ham leaving town with all three points after a 2-1 triumph. It was West Ham’s second victory in their past 14 encounters and third in the past 21, but they’ve won two of the last three. City’s last won a league game at Upton Park back in October of 2013 with a 3-1 result. Overall, the two clubs have met 101 times in the past with City winning 48 losing 37 and drawing the other 16.
West Ham enters the weekend in sixth place with nine wins, eight draws and five losses for 35 points with 34 goals scored and 26 allowed. They have four home wins along with four draws and two losses with 16 goals for and 12 against. The Hammers are undefeated in their past half dozen home outings with three wins and three draws. West Ham is just four points out of fourth place and recently signed promising youngster Sam Byram from Leeds United. The defender reportedly cost four million pounds and could make his debut on Saturday. West Ham has been better away from home this year as they have 19 points on the road and 16 at home. The Hammers have allowed only six goals against in their past nine league matches and have three wins, two draws and a loss in their last six league games.
Man City sits in third place with 13 wins, four draws and five defeats for 43 points. They’ve scored a league-high 43 goals and allowed 21 against and are just one point behind league co-leaders Arsenal and Leicester City. However, City has been mediocre on the road with four victories, three draws and three defeats with just 10 goals for and nine against. They’re ninth best on the road with 15 out of 30 points and recently went six away contests without a win. Argentine international striker Sergio Aguero is healthy and hot with four goals in his last five games and has 10 overall. City has three wins, two draws and a loss on in their last six outings.
As far as injuries go, West Ham will once again be without striker Andy Carroll and fellow forward Diafra Sakho. City will be missing defender and team captain Vincent Kompany of Belgium due to a calf injury and French midfielder Samir Nasri is still out.
